The Climate Woke Summit (2021) description:
The focus of this event is to activate your art and other artists for Climate Justice in North Carolina. North Carolina is always center stage during national elections and this upcoming midterm election in 2022 will be no different. Instead of sitting on the edge of your seat during the counting of ballots, do something about it!
We are inviting you to the one and only event that intersects social justice, climate justice and the arts. You will hear first hand from long-time organizers, artists and cultural strategists on how intersecting issues like Coal Pollution and Hog Farms with a 30 year battle for Black and Brown empowerment is an environmental and climate crisis to be involved in!
Performances and Speakers include: Wesley from BLKMRKT, Jaki Shelton Green, Benjamin Chavis, Monèt Noelle Marshall, Mamoudou N'Diaye, Favianna Rodriguez and many more!
